My satisfaction comes from guiding people in their healing process, observing and applauding their step-by-step improvements. I have over 20 years of experience in working with children, adults, couples, and families. My life has been enriched by my contact with people in all walks of life.

In my work with trauma I often rely on EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Both of these therapeutic models have been researched and found to be highly effective which has also been my personal experience. Sometimes I interweave expressive work and dream work and also find these interventions to be useful.

Children have been a primary focus of my work for my entire career. For very young children, play therapy is often the key to healing trauma. For children with attachment impairments who are newly adopted, I favor the use of Theraplay for helping children to build relational connections in their brains. It is intensive, but joy-filled work that brings out smiles and laughter in children and their parents. I find that play is a wonderful component in family therapy and I emphasize fun in my work with children and families.

I also work with depression and anxiety in adults using a wellness model that looks at the emotional, spiritual, mental, social, and physical aspects of the self in setting goals for recovery.
